Anomaly Progress 2/N

Just a blip update right now, because I have some time today and I'm hoping to power through to a more substantial update later on.

Inquisitor Pointy for scale
Inquisitor Pointy for scale.

The left walkway has a magnet under the doorway, got a black spray on the underside - the impossible to paint later side - and is now firmly glued in place, along with the railing and ladder now. Hooray, things coming together.

walkway components in situ partial assembly fitting the mesh
Anti-clockwise from TL: components; L-assembly; fitting the mesh; in situ.

Seems like white styrene photos poorly, at least in terms of revealing shape. However this is some of the WIP shots of creating the walkway between the two highest platforms. Components are styrene square rods - actual Plastruct not random ebay stuff thi time for the better fidelity on dimensions - some styrene U-channels, and "granny grating" plastic mesh.

The mesh was something I entertained for making general floor tiles (as the old city of death tiles I used are prohibitively rare and pricey now), but it is an absolutely horrible material to work with. It glues very poorly to anything, requiring washing and sanding to get any traction with superglue even, it's got lots of mould lines, and because it's cheaply made it's very unreliable in what it's actual dimensions are which has been the bogeyman of this project the whole way through. So now I'm only using it rarely where it makes sense such as these walkways.
