Junction One Done(ish), Junction Two underway

Four more hours in, another quick update.

J1 still needs something but is nominally finished detailing, so the next stage would be PVA and grit to rough it up a bit before the painting starts.

Junction One done(ish)

Some detail shots building on previous:

scratch built gubbinz hanging cables, clawed hatch

The scratch built gubbinz occupying the space behind the railing were my hand being forced by lack of any other bits fitting the area. Primarily made of a 10x10 square rod and some angled steps styrene (presumably intended for rail modellers) which looks like venting as placed. A few sundry cables and bits to dress it. Still feel it needs something to fill he space more and not look so much like it's just sitting there. Hmmm.

zinge cables more zinge cables

Here I've started to use some of the flexible cabling I picked up from Zinge at Salute. Only using it in the most simplistic way here (no curves, no joins) because it's first try and obviously you need to see how it looks and works, but the intent is this becomes another motif I can echo through lots of pieces to connect them thematically. It's pretty cool stuff and not too pricey if used sparingly, so I recommend it and look forward to trying more elaborate uses soon.

Junction Two green stuffed

And lastly, current state of J2, and detail of the angled panelling here (consists of a railing form the sector mechanicus stuff inverted and with a semi-circle styrene "padding" rod to complete:

new panel style

Finished up and moving on to a new piece next week.
